Transferring Your Carbonite Safe Subscription to Start a New Backup
Summary:
You can transfer your Carbonite Safe subscription to another computer to start a new backup.
Note: These instructions apply when tranferring from a Windows computer to another Windows computer. If you want to transfer between Windows and Mac, please see this article instead.

Solution:
- Sign in at https://account.carbonite.com or with the button below.
- From the Computer options dropdown menu, select Move my Subscription.
- Choose Move my subscription and start a new backup and click Continue to Download.
If you move your Carbonite subscription and start a new backup, your previous backup will remain accessible for 30 days. - On the next page, click Download now.
- Open the downloaded Carbonite setup file.
- When prompted with “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” click Yes.
- Review the Terms and Conditions and click I agree.
- After the installation completes, click Close Window.
- In the Don’t forgot to resume your backup popup window, click Resume my backup.
- Select the checkbox and click Resume my backup.
You successfully transferred Carbonite to the computer. Carbonite will scan for files and start backing up within a few minutes.
