Backing Up Files That Are Excluded By Default (Mac 1x)

You can manually add files to your backupA set of copies of your files on our servers. through the Carbonite Preference pane.

Click the Apple symbol in the menu bar and select System Preferences.

Within the System Preferences window, click the Carbonite icon.

The Carbonite Preference pane will be displayed. Click the Backup tab.

Your computer's files and folders will be displayed with colored status dots on them to indicate their backup status. A red dot will be placed on files and folders that are not selected for backup.

If your Backup tab doesn't look like the one in the screenshot below, click the Manually Manage My Backup button.

Navigate to a file or folder that isn't selected for backup.

Select the data that you would like to back upTo send a copy of your files from your computer to our servers for safe keeping. and click the Back This Up button.

Backup this selected item

Any file or folder with a green or yellow dot is selected for backup.
