Match User Accounts

On the left side of the first step, Carbonite lists the usernames that were backed up on the old computer. On the right side, you have a drop-down list that lets you choose where you want the backed up data restored to.

Match User Accounts Window

Use the drop-down list to choose the user account to which you wish to restore your files.

After making your selections, click Continue to proceed to the next step.

Matching User Accounts
If you are restoring to a system with an account of the same name as one from your backup, please do not have Carbonite create additional user accounts, as these accounts may not be created properly and the restore will not proceed correctly. If you wish to restore files to more than one user account, please create the accounts on your Mac instead of having Carbonite create them.
