How to Determine if Carbonite is Installed

To determine whether Carbonite is installed, look for the Carbonite Icon in your Windows notification area at the bottom right corner of your screen. If you do not see the Carbonite icon, it may be hidden. Click the arrow ( ^ ) to display hidden notification areaThe area next to your system clock that contains the icons of the programs you are running. icons.

Click the Windows Start menu and select All Programs. When the Start menu changes to show the list of programs, click Carbonite; Carbonite to start Carbonite.
If Carbonite doesn't appear in your Programs menu, it's not installed on your computer. We suggest reinstalling Carbonite Safe to ensure that your backup resumes and your files stay protected.

Open the Search charm by hovering your mouse over the bottom-right corner of your screen and clicking Search or by pressing the Windows Key + Q keys on your keyboard.
In the Search field, type "carbonite". You should see Carbonite in the list of results.
If Carbonite doesn't appear in your Apps results, it's not installed on your computer. We suggest reinstalling Carbonite Safe to ensure that your backup resumes and your files stay protected.
