SmartScreen Error During Install

SmartScreen is an anti-phishing service that is enabled by default in Internet Explorer. When SmartScreen is enabled, you may encounter one of the following error messages when trying to install Carbonite.
If you see the error message above and you downloaded the installer from the Carbonite website, it is safe to proceed.If you are seeing a different error, please see the difficulty installing Carbonite guide for further assistance.
- Click the View Downloads button.
- In the Downloads folder, right-click the Carbonite installer file ("CarboniteSetup-personal-client.exe") and click Run anyway.
- Click the More info link in the popup and you may be presented with one of the following messages depending on your version of Windows.
- If a checkbox appears, Mark the checkbox labeled I understand the risk and want to run the app.
- A Run button will appear.
- Click the new Run button, and the install will proceed normally.
- If you see the Run anyway button, click on it and the install will proceed normally.
To prevent this issue in the future, we recommend installing all Windows Updates as soon as they become available.
