Downgrading Your Carbonite Safe Subscription

You can downgrade your Safe Plus or Prime subscription if you no longer need the additional features included with the plan. Downgrading will reduce the annual cost of your subscription, but it also will remove the previous plan benefits.

Sign into your Carbonite account at https://account.carbonite.com or with the button below.

Sign In

After you sign in, click Renew Now from the Computer options drop-down menu for the Carbonite subscription that you would like to downgrade.

Click Renew Now

The next screen will display the available Carbonite Safe plans. Choose the plan you wish to downgrade to, and a warning will appear warning you of the features that will be lost.

Choose the lower Carbonite plan
Any remaining value from the previous subscription will be added to your account as a credit to future Carbonite purchases or renewals.

Click Continue to billing to review your order.

After you confirm the plan details, click Complete my purchase to pay with your default credit card and proceed to the next step.

Edit the Plan Type in the Cart
You can choose another card to make the purchase by selecting Edit payment info to enter new payment information.

After the purchase is successful, an email with your order details will be sent to the email address associated with your Carbonite account. No further action is needed for the existing Carbonite backups to continue.
