Backing Up Your iTunes Music

Apple keeps your music within a folder located on your computer. Carbonite adds this location to your backup by default. To ensure the files are backed up, navigate to the location where they are stored to see if they are selected.
iTunes music is saved in the following locations by default, depending on your operating system:
Windows XP
- C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]Your [User Name] will vary depending on how you set up your computer. If you do not see your own name, your files are most likely in something generic, such as Owner or User.\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media.
Windows Vista, Windows 8, Windows 10
- C:\Users\[User Name]Your [User Name] will vary depending on how you set up your computer. If you do not see your own name, your files are most likely in something generic, such as Owner or User.\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media.
If your iTunes Music is not in the default location, follow the instructions below to determine the iTunes Media folder location:
- Open iTunes.
- Click Edit; Preferences
- Click the Advanced tab
If you navigate to the iTunes Media folder and your music is not selected for backup, right-click the folder and select Carbonite; Back this up.
