Backup Size Increased or Doubled for Carbonite Safe

When you start your free trial of Carbonite, certain files will not be automatically added to your backup (like music files). However, these files can be manually added to your backupA set of copies of your files on our servers. set at any time.

When you upgrade from the trial version to a paid subscription of Carbonite, it may appear that you are backing up files that you thought were already backed up. The most common cause for this is that the music files not backed up during the trial will be automatically backed up when a subscription is purchased.

Another cause of increased backup size occurs if you select all files of a certain type by selecting "Backup Files of this type (within folders selected for backup)". This will cause Carbonite to back up files within selected folders that were previously not backed up.
