Carbonite Safe Pricing Adjustment
Effective February 6, 2018, Carbonite adjusted our pricing to reflect the value of our Carbonite Safe unlimited cloud backup plans. This allow us to continue investing in the products that are backing up your important documents and photos as well as providing protection against security threats like ransomware.
We have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) below regarding this price adjustment.

The price adjustment, which is equivalent to $1 more per month, will support product enhancements - such as recent updates to our user interface and increased reliability for remote file access - as well as investments in our award-winning customer support. We proudly remain one of the only cloud backup vendors to offer our customers unlimited phone, email, and chat support with their unlimited backup plan.
Effective February 6, 2018, Carbonite Safe Basic and Carbonite Safe Plus plans will be adjusted by $1 more per month. There is no pricing change to Carbonite Safe Prime.
As always, we will offer customers renewing for multi-year subscriptions a discount on their plans:
- 5% discount will be applied to 2-year subscriptions
- 10% discount will be applied to 3-year subscriptions

No, your current backup isn’t affected at all. You can continue to rest easy knowing that your important files are being securely backed up and protected from accidental deletions, hard-drive failures or malicious ransomware attacks.
We’d hate to see you go, but if you choose not to renew your Carbonite subscription, we'll continue to store your data for 60 days if you have automatic renewal enabled or 30 days if you manually renew before it is permanently erased from our servers. After that your data can no longer be restored.
